Welcome. If you’re new here, this is the right place to start.
The Observers is our shared journal. It’s the distillation of notes taken while moving through places, reviewed later, and gathered here once we’ve already left. This site exists to capture what stood out after some distance: moments, details, and small impressions.
The delay is intentional.
We’re not documenting where we are, or what we’re doing in real time. Everything here is retrospective. What you’ll read reflects past experiences, written after they’ve had time to settle.
That distance matters to us.
What you’ll find here
What you’ll find here
Over time, this site will collect:
- Short written observations from travel
- Photographs that focus on scenes more than people
- Notes on places we passed through
- Reflections written after the fact
Some entries will be brief. Others may run a bit longer.
What this site is not
This isn’t a live travel log.
It isn’t advice on how you should travel.
It isn’t a map or a trail to follow.
Everything here is shared for informational and narrative purposes only. The full Disclaimer lays that out in more detail.
Why “The Observers”
The name reflects what we want to do. We move through places with attention, then step back to write.
That’s the rhythm of this site.
How to read this
You don’t need to start at the beginning or read everything. Entries are meant to stand alone. Dip in where you’re curious. Leave when you’re done. Come back later if something sticks with you.
And if you’re family or friends: this is simply where we’ll be leaving notes from time to time. Hopefully it helps answer some questions, spark conversation, and help us remember the parts of our experiences that felt worth holding onto.
That’s all this is meant to be.

This entry, like all posts on this site, reflects past experiences and is published with deliberate delay. It describes what was experienced, not where we are now. For more, see the Disclaimer.
